To use your taper candles with the remote, they must first be turned on at the base.

How to turn on your taper candles:

1. The batteries for the remote control are included, but the taper candles themselves require 2 x AAA batteries each (not included).
2. Unscrew the plastic base of each candle to access the battery compartment. 
3. Insert the batteries and screw the base back in place.
4. Once reassembled, press the push button located at the base of the candle. This will turn them on.
5. Once turned on at the base, you can use the TruGlow remote to switch them on or off and activate the 6-hour timer.
